Douglas Ridloff is a poet and visual storyteller creating original works in Sign Language. He is executive director behind ASL SLAM, a monthly open mic event that goes beyond the typical open mic experience and has amassed an international following after traveled to perform his own poetry and having brought ASL SLAM to Jamaica, Cuba, France, Germany, Israel, Australia, and the U.K. to name a few, with Douglas's visionary and guidance.
Douglas has organized performances and showcased my work at the Whitney Museum, The Metropolitan Museum, the Jewish Museum and the 9/11 Memorial Museum and many more.
He has worked as an ASL consultant for film and TV with the likes of John Kraskinsky, Emily Blunt, Kumal Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Barry Keoghan, Sam Rockwell, Donald Glover and Anthony Edwards. Douglas has been featured in NBC NEWS, Circa, HBO Vice, and CNN’s Great Big Story for his work. He gave a talk at TEDx Vienna in 2018 and TEDx UniGeneva.
